 NTTU students are widely engaged in environmental and sustainability related activities. The related activities held are very diverse. Furthermore, NTTU campuses are in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Taitung Environment Education center, Zhiben Forest Recreation Park, and Zhiben Organic Farming Center (all within 10 Km). These facilities provide good materials for sustainability practice and experience. Some events which are held periodically are summarized in the following table.

2. Many environmental and sustainability events hosted by NTTU are organized by administration offices, academic departments and student unions or clubs. Environmental Protection Division of General Affairs Department, Sports & Health Center, Disaster Prevention Center, Science Education Center, School Safety Department host more related activities.
3. NTTU’s 2020 Earth Week Events.
(1) Annual Earth Day is on April 22. Diverse events are held worldwide to raise awareness of the need to protect the natural environment. A series of events will be organized for NTTU’s 2020 Earth Week to enhance environmental awareness and participation through action by the institution’s faculty and students, thereby facilitating health- and sustainability-promoting practices as an international green university.
(2) NTTU’s 2020 Earth Week series events are held from April 20 (Monday) to 24 (Friday), 2020. The series of events includes a Farmers’ Market, NTTU Vegetarian Day, and general education lectures (one session for each event), along with a Campus Tour on Ecological and Environmental Protection (two sessions), totaling five sessions.
(3) Campus Tours on Ecological and Environmental Protection In the Campus Tour on Ecological and Environmental Protection, guided tours are provided of the environmental protection facilities and campus ecology, including composting fallen leaves, food waste recycling, green buildings, a reclaimed water recycling system, a sewage treatment plant, joint trenches, a heat pump system in the swimming pool, and arbors and birds along the way.
