       The USR program of NTTU’s Teachers College is committed to building a resilient university, cultivating resilient talents, and sharing prosperity with the local community. Through the connection with local multicultural ethnic groups and ecological landscape in Taitung, the program uses the curriculum to extend the teaching field of integrating learning and application to cultivate practical professionals. Moreover, the program also promotes the added value of tribal tourism culture, upgrading agriculture, as well as a responsible tourism model, to build a sustainable tourism model exclusive to Taitung, and to achieve the indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
       Since 2017, the program has cooperated with local area to protect the precious mountain and sea cultural tourism resources in the eastern part of Taitung, revitalize the local culture and protect the mountain and sea resources, and promote the development of traditional industries. It promotes compound tourism, drives the industrial innovation model, and also implements the USR plan, so as to make university resilient and achieve the sustainable development goals of SDGs.
       The Program integrates the resources of NTTU’s Teachers College, strengthens the curriculum and local connections, promotes itinerary with cultural heritage, and allows tribal people to operate independently. It also connects students with tourist industry and practitioners, and creates a sustainable tribal tourism business model of mutual benefit and common prosperity. Teachers College has set up cross-department and cross-field course modules to cultivate interdisciplinary resilient talents. It also moves teaching practices to mountains, forests and ocean in Taitung to explore local cultural resources and improve students' environmental protection literacy. The program also commits itself to combining agriculture and tourism, promoting the marketing of agricultural products through local tours, and promoting the upgrading of Taitung's agriculture and responsible tourism for the common good.
