        The creative courses provided by Mountain-Ocean Tribe Recreation Education Center aim to explore the local tribal historic sites and record the local cultural stories.
  1. Objectives:
    To make use of the advantages of the natural environment and diverse cultures of Taitung County, to make good use of the expertise of our teachers in mountain and marine sports, culture and leisure, digital media and education, to cultivate professional talents, to link local tribes and communities, to develop Mountain-Ocean education and in-depth tribal tourism, to integrate cross-field and cross-institutional cooperation, and eventually to promote the sustainable development of Mountain-Ocean environment and traditional culture through outdoor environment exploration education and cultural tourism with local characteristics.
  2. Characteristics:
    To organize cross-disciplinary modules on Mountain-Ocean recreation and education, to gather cross-disciplinary talents in Mountain-Ocean recreation and education, to station in tribal areas through special courses or summer internships, and to continuously and steadily assist tribes in developing Mountain-Ocean outdoor and local culture promotion.
  3. Missions:
    (1) to combine cross-disciplinary expertise in outdoor exploration education, in-depth tribal tourism or camp workshops;
    (2) to inventory local environmental and cultural resources, in-depth tourism planning and digital media marketing;
    (3) to develop a sustainable tourism model for Mountain-Ocean environment and tribal culture; and
    (4) to highlight the highlights of outdoor exploration education and traditional tribal tourism, and to change the landscape of mountain-ocean cultural experience tourism.
  4. Highlights:
    (1) Tree climbing, slate house life experience, pottery bead experience, and bow making experience in Jialan; marine canoeing and SUP experience in Fushan and stream-tracing experience in Wuling have been listed on the relevant tour platforms;
    (2) Through the courses, we assisted Jialan, Wuling, and Fushan in producing videos to introduce the sites and promote the tours; and
    (3) Conducted training courses to enhance the interpretation content and community management skills of local partners. We also assisted local partners to obtain lifeguard certification, backcountry instructor certification, open-water diving certification, and rope technology certification, etc., to implement the basis of responsibility transfer.
Highlights
